STAMPS?! YES!! We collect STAMPS!!! Then we turn them into CASH and send it to ERDO (Emergency Relief Development Overseas) - who sends it to the CONGO to give women a second chance!
Here are the facts:
For over ten years, the DRC has been rocked by violent civil war. As the military and rebel groups fight, women and children are caught in the middle. Already living in hunger, without access to medical care or clean water, many endure physical and sexual violence at the hands of soldiers and guerrilla fighters. Past experience has shown that when women are given the resources to improve their lives, they will work hard to provide for their families. A small microfinance loan is just the first step on the road to economic recovery. ERDO gives us the opportunity to give the GIFT OF A LOAN to a women living in the CONGO. When a microfinance loan is repaid, the money continues to serve the community as it is loaned out again and again, multiplying the impact many times over.
With your support, families in the DRC can face tomorrow with the hope that things will get better. Women and children who have endured starvation and rape will receive help to provide for themselves, allowing them to escape the bonds of poverty. The average loan is about $50 - a small amount that can have an incredible impact.
